I think Baba will not sell eleme due to its strategic significance and it'd be hard to imagine that Baba's just gonna completely give up that optionality (Meituan will not crush it for antitrust reasons thereby leaving Baba a chance to make a come-back down the road). In addition, even if such a deal consummates, I think Tik Tok will have a very hard time trying to execute and turnaround that business given its intrinsic business characteristics as a "network traffic vendor". Lastly, compared to Meituan, Tik Tok is apparently a more formidable opponent for Baba's core online retail business, it just seems a bit silly for Baba to feed its nightmare competitor to make it even stronger.
There would be no wars any more in waimai industry I think because no capital will be interested in burning money for a mature industry. only if the delivery robot be created and no need of living persons doing the delivery works.
